Program Description 
The AAS in Business Management includes the study of business theory and principles applied in the many activities of business today, both nationally and worldwide. Emphasis is given to problem solving and decision making to prepare the graduate with decision-making skills for a variety of career areas.

Career Opportunities
Graduates with an AAS in Business Management will gain the skills and abilities to apply for a variety of jobs including General & Operations Manager, Sales Manager, Business Analyst, Entrepreneur, and Retail Manager.

Note that an AAS degree is primarily intended to prepare students for entry-level careers.  The AAS degree is not designed to transfer to a 4-year college or university. Students planning to transfer to a bachelor’s degree program should instead explore the AS and AA degree options offered at the Gail Miller Business School.

Complete all General Education courses. Refer to Notes for program specific requirements and recommendations.

  

Program General Education Notes


REQUIRED:

Written Communication (WC): ENGL 1010 Introduction to College Writing (WC)  -  3 credits  

RECOMMENDED:

Quantitative Studies (QS): FIN 1380 - Financial Mathematics (QS)  

Communication (CM): BUS 2200 - Business Communications (CM)  or COMM 1500 - Media and Society (CM)                                        

Human Relations (HR): MKTG 1960 - Professionalism in Business (HR)  

Breadth Area: one course from one of the Breadth Areas  is required; FIN 1050 - Personal Finance (SS)  is the recommended option.

 

A course with a General Education designation can be applied to either General Education or Business Management program requirements, but not both.

Students who choose a 2-credit HR course will need 1 additional General Elective credit to meet the required 60 total credits for this program.

  • Business Management AAS: Full-time  
  • Time to completion is 4 semesters based on a full-time minimum of 15 credits per semester. Less than 15 credits per semester will increase time to completion.
