Program Description

The  A.A.S. degree in Fashion Design and Development prepares students for the dynamic world of designing, developing, displaying, and promoting apparel and related goods. Ideal for those passionate about fabrics, clothing, accessories, color, design, and business, this program equips students with the necessary education for entry into a diverse and competitive field.

Through design foundations and experiential learning, students can shape their personal aesthetic while acquiring the technical skills essential for the workforce. The program offers a flexible and broad curriculum, catering to various careers and interests within the field.

Students can choose an emphasis aligned with their career goals. With access to modern facilities and classrooms, students have the resources to foster their growth in the program.

REQUIRED:

Written Communication (WC): ENGL 1010 - Introduction to College Writing (WC)  

Human Relations (HR): ART 1150 - Art Foundation Seminar (HR)  

Breadth Areas: choose 1 course from 1 of the Breadth Areas , 1 course total. 

Courses that meet General Education requirements may be used to meet program requirements unless specified by the program. If this option is chosen, students must complete additional general elective courses to meet the total credit hour requirement.

  • Create their career brand and use self-promotion tools/portfolio, in order to effectively market themselves in the industry. [1,4]
