INTR 1000 - Introduction to ASL/English Interpreting Credits: 2 This course provides an introduction to the profession of ASL/English interpreting and the skills needed to be an interpreter. Topics include history, models, intercultural communication, ethics, terminology, employment options, certification procedures and types, cognitive processes, physical and psychological demands. It is recommended that students have an understanding of ASL before enrolling.
