INTL 2240 - Latin American Epistemologies: Knowledge, Power, and Society

Credits: 3
Investigate how knowledge is created, contested, and used across Latin America. Students examine Indigenous, Afro-diasporic, feminist, and local epistemologies to understand how power and coloniality influence politics, development, environment, and culture. Emphasizing critical inquiry and interdisciplinary methods, the course builds skills for analyzing global systems and producing research grounded in lived experience. It is recommended that students take SPN 2999 concurrently with this course.

Prerequisite: INTL 1240 or instructor/department approval.
