ART 2010 - History of Graphic Design

Students will survey the history of graphic design: illustration, prehistoric proto-alphabets, medieval and renaissance manuscripts, the invention of movable type, and the impact of industrial revolution on printing. The impact of technology over the centuries will also be examined, including digital typographic processes in a globalized world.
