Program Description
The Computer Sciences and Information Systems AAS Degree prepares students to enter the workplace with skills in a variety of highly technical areas such as those listed below. The CSIS Department offers Certificates of Proficiency (CP) in the following areas:
Business and Personal Computing CP (18 credits)
Computer Science Fundamentals CP (16 credits)
Data Analytics and Business Intelligence CP (19 credits)
Database Information Systems and Technology CP (16 credits)
Digital Marketing CP (17 credits)
Ethical Hacking and Digital Forensic Investigation CP (16 credits)
Fundamentals of Information Assurance and Cyber Defense CP (16 credits)
Linux System Administration CP (16 credits)
Mobile Application Development CP (16 credits)
Network and Cyber Security CP (16 credits)
Network and System Administration CP (16 credits)
Network Routing and Switching CP (16 credits)
Software Development CP (16 credits)
Web Programming and Development CP (16 credits)
Windows System Administration CP (16 credits)
General Education + Certificate + Certificate + Certificate = Diploma
Choose any three (3) of the above Certificates of Proficiency. Completion of the General Education requirements (14 CREDITS MINIMUM) and three (3) Certificates of Proficiency (49 CREDITS MINIMUM) allows a student to be eligible to apply for an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Sciences and Information Systems.
The Computer Sciences and Information Systems AAS Degree is designed to provide students with skills of sufficient breadth and depth to enter the workplace. Many positions in business and industry require a significant number of highly technical skills. The student is strongly encouraged to discuss this with the CSIS Academic Advisor to help choose three compatible Certificates of Proficiency to maximize the breadth and depth of the areas of the student’s proficiency.
