Program Description
Students will understand the fundamentals of basic data analysis and IT systems components, learn basic scripting and introductory programming, networking concepts, cyber defense and cyber threats are identified. Students will understand fundamental security design principles, information assurance fundamentals and an introduction to cryptography. System administration is studied and practiced in this CP.

Career Opportunities
Employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 13 percent from 2020 to 2030, faster than the average for all occupations. These occupations are projected to add about 667,600 new jobs. Demand for these workers will stem from greater emphasis on cloud computing, the collection and storage of big data, and information security.
