Program Description: The Psychology department offers individual courses in psychology, as well as a two-year AS degree. Listed below is the recommended course of study for the AS degree.

Transfer/Articulation Information: Admission into a major program at a transfer institution depends upon the receiving institution’s requirements for that major. Some major programs are restricted and require special application as well as a competitive GPA. See an Academic Advisor at both SLCC and the intended receiving institution for specific articulation information.

Estimated Cost for Students: Tuition and books based on the number of credit hours each semester.

Estimated Time to Completion: If students follow the suggested sample schedule, completion time is four semesters.

3. Research Methods in Psychology. Students will understand and apply basic research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation. 3 - Develop Quantitative Literacy
4. Critical Thinking Skills in Psychology. Students will gain experience in critical and creative thinking, skeptical inquiry, and, when possible, the scientific approach to solve problems related to behavior and mental processes. 4 - Think Critically
