Program Description:
In the Network Engineer program, students will learn through hands-on training to install, configure, operate, administer, and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches as well as Microsoft Windows desktop and server systems and services to support the day-to-day operations of small, medium, and enterprise network environments. Elective courses provide training options in Linux, network security fundamentals, data storage, as well as advanced Windows Server and Cisco topics. This training can be used as a step to gaining valuable industry recognized certification titles including Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA). , Linux Essentials and CompTIA Security +.
A broad range of client, server, and network management topics are covered in this program including Cisco router and switch configuration, routing protocols, VLANs, network optimization and troubleshooting, file and print services, directory services, user and group account management, automation of tasks through scripts, remote management and administration, domain controller management, software distribution and updates, audit policies, vulnerability assessment, firewall configuration, network access protection, encryption, data backup and recovery, disaster prevention, RAID configuration, cluster services, network load balancing, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, VPN configuration, Terminal Services, Routing, Patch Management, operating system virtualization, Hyper-V, and more.
