Program Description:
In the Network Administrator program, students will learn through hands-on training to install, configure, operate, administer, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows desktop and server systems and services to support the day-to-day operations of small, medium, and enterprise network environments. Elective courses provide training options in Linux fundamentals, networking and network security fundamentals, data storage, and advanced Windows Server topics.  This training can be used as a step to gaining valuable industry recognized certification titles including Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Linux Essentials, and CompTIA Security + and Network +.

A broad range of client, server, and network management topics are covered in this program including: file and print services, directory services, user and group account management, automation of tasks through scripts, remote management and administration, domain controller management, software distribution and updates, Terminal Services, audit policies, vulnerability assessment, firewall configuration, network access protection, encryption, data backup and recovery, disaster prevention, cluster services, network load balancing, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP subnetting, Group Policy, VPN configuration, Terminal Services, Routing, Patch Management, operating system virtualization, and Hyper-V

Advising Notes:


It is recommended that students have CompTIA A+ equivalent knowledge to enter this program (A+ certification is not required). Those with limited or no previous computer network experience should consider enrolling in the Computer Support Specialist program prior to seeking enrollment in the Network Administrator program. Students who are unsure if they meet the minimum requirements should contact the instructor prior to enrolling.
