Program Description: The Retail Management Certificate program is designed to prepare new and returning students for advancement in the retail industry. The program is structured so as to serve a broad retail segment and be effective in developing future talent to fill the void created by retirement within the retail field. This program is a gateway program intended to introduce higher education and training to the retail industry, which can lead to an AAS degree.  

Students will develop basic educational knowledge and technical skills in the following key areas: written and oral business communication, business mathematics, bookkeeping/accounting, computer applications, management and marketing, human relations and leadership, retail management and merchandising.

Career Opportunities: Student completing the Retail Management Certificate will either already be working in, or begin to work in a retail environment that will boost their career and earning potential.

Estimated Time to Completion: If students follow the suggested semester schedule, time to completion is two semesters.
