CHL 1900 - Special Topics in Community Health and Leadership Credits: 3 This course covers independent study in community health. Elective credit may also be awarded for certifications or credentials related to public health or healthcare administration.
Prerequisite: Instructor’s approval. Semester: Based on student demand Registration Restrictions: Students who would like to use this course for Credit for Prior learning must submit certification for review and pre-approval by instructor. The student must provide evidence of certification. Once the certificiton is approved and the student has provided evidence of completion, a “passing” grade will be awarded to the student. No additional course work or requirements are needed. Examples of certifications approved include (but are not limited to):
- Certified Community Health Worker (CHW),
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES),
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-AAMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA)
- Certified Medical Coder (CPC)
- Certified in Public Health (CPH),
- Certified Affordable Care Act Navigator,
- Certified Prevention Specialist,
- Certified Health Data Analyst,
- Certification in Infection Control,
- Certified Wellness Program Coordinator,
- or similar certifications.
