PHAR 1040 - Pharmacy Calculations and Law Credits: 2 Course teaches the essential mathematics concepts and skills pharmacy technicians use on the job. Skills required for calculating and preparing drug doses in community and institutional pharmacy settings are mastered. Basic skills on fractions, percents, conversions, measurements, application of equations required for dose and solution preparations are presented. Business terms and math skills essential to determine inventory and purchasing needs, profit margins, and inventory control are covered. State, federal and controlled substance laws governing pharmacy practice are presented.
