Plan of Study

The following is a plan of requirements to complete this Associate of Science degree in 2 years. Each student’s experience will vary slightly, as this plan does not include transfer work, Advanced Placement (AP), or other institutions’ concurrent enrollment credits. Math and English placement will be based on the student’s appropriate placement scores. If developmental courses are required, they should be taken in the student’s first semester.

NOTE: This plan assumes the student is prepared to take the courses listed. If prerequisites are required, additional semesters may be required to complete this degree.

Meet with the Academic Program Advisor and consult DegreeWorks for specific degree requirements.

Advising Notes

Social Science (SS): One of 4 classes will be accepted; different transfer institutions have different requirements for pre-requisites here.  Please see specific advising notes for each articulation pathway to determine the appropriate class to take.

  • PSY 1100 (SS) Lifespan Human Growth and Development
  • FHS 1500 (SS) Lifespan Human Development
  • ECON 1010 (SS) Economics as a Social Science
  • ECON 2010 (SS) Principles of Microeconomics

Life Sciences (LS): BIOL 1610 College Biology I and BIOL 1615 College Biology I Lab are required.

Physical Sicence (PS): CHEM 1110 is strongly recommended as it serves as a pre-requisite to BIOL 2420.

Four credits in Chemistry are required for transfer.

All other general studies are student choice.

Students need to take either HLTH 1500 Lifetime Wellness/Fitness or ACCT 2010 Survey of Financial Accounting. That choice may impact the transfer options.  Please see articulation agreements for transfer programs to determine the correct course to take.

If student deviates from recommended courses, they will need to work with advising to ensure that classes taken will meet requirements for transfer articulation agreements.
