Plan of Study 2022-2023

The following is a plan of requirements to complete this Certificate of Proficiency in 2 semesters. Each student’s experience will vary slightly, as this plan does not include transfer work, Advanced Placement (AP), or other institutions’ concurrent enrollment credits. Math and English placement will be based on the student’s appropriate placement scores. If developmental courses are required, they should be taken in the student’s first semester.

NOTE: This plan assumes the student is prepared to take the courses listed. If prerequisites are required, additional semesters may be required to complete this degree.

Meet with the Academic Program Advisor and consult DegreeWorks for specific degree requirements.

Advising Notes

The Automotive Program will run all courses each semester (Fall & Spring) during day and on a rotating schedule at night. Students entering either the day or night program will be able to complete the required classes in one year, following this map. This map is designed using Fall as a starting point for clarification purposes, however, students could also start in Spring and complete all KAUT classes within a one-year cycle.

*These courses are currently being offered through Weber State University as Concurrent Enrollment courses.  It is a revision of the currently offered SLCC AUTO 1010 (6 Cr.) course which divides it into smaller sections. High Schools have found these sections more useful in assigning their classes and achieving/maintaining their Accreditation through ASE-EF.  Making this change allows us to help our High School partners and aligns our program with other USHE institutions. This also allows for students who have completed some but not all Concurrent Enrollment courses to have a starting point and a plan for completion. KAUT Automotive Technician Safety & Shop Practices will need to be completed at SLCC.
