Advising Notes

  • The classes listed are sequential and are to be taken in order. All major ELI course requirements must be taken to complete the apprenticeship curriculum. The courses are only offered once each year with odd number courses in the fall semester and even number courses in the spring semester. The math prerequisite does not fulfill any of the apprenticeship hours required. A student must pass each course with a C+ or higher and pass a competency test to move onto the next level class. Failure to complete the necessary course work or to register in a timely manner for each class will add one full year to the apprentice’s program.
  • It is the students’ responsibility to understand the requirements for their chosen program of study and to examine each course description for details about the prerequisite classes. It is highly recommended that each student meet with the Apprenticeship Program Advisor prior to starting this program. The Program Advisor may be reached in Academic and Career Advising.
  • *It is recommended to those students seeking the AAS degree to complete the general education requirements in the summer semesters or the year following completion of all the Apprenticeship core courses. Students seeking the AAS degree must apply and
  • A Certificate in Electrical Independent Technology is also available. For more information about this certificate, contact the Apprenticeship Office, Taylorsville Redwood Campus, CT 274, (801) 957-4066.
