Program Description: The Retail Management Certificate program is designed to prepare new and returning students for advancement in the retail industry. The program is structured so as to serve a broad retail segment and be effective in developing future talent to fill the void created by retirement within the retail field. This program is a gateway program intended to introduce higher education and training to the retail industry. The Retail Management Certificate of Completion can be used toward the AAS degrees in Marketing Management and Business Administration.

Students will develop basic educational knowledge and technical skills in the following key areas: written and oral business communication, business mathematics, bookkeeping/accounting, computer applications, management and marketing, human relations and leadership, retail management and merchandising.

Career Opportunities: Students pursuing the Retail Management Certificate can either start their own retail business, move into an entry level position within a retail business, or current work in a retail environment.  The Retail Management Certificate will give retail employees, at any level, the opportunity to move more quickly into management position and boost their earning potential.  The national retail salary range is up to $19.80 per hour or an annual salary of $45K - $100K with bonuses.

Estimated Time to Completion: If students follow the suggested semester schedule, time to completion is two semesters.
