Program Description
The Gail Miller School of Business Associate of Science degree is designed as a transfer degree to business schools at four-year institutions within the Utah System of Higher Education. Requirements at four-year colleges and universities are subject to change; ongoing planning is essential. Students interested in degrees designed for more immediate business employment should review the Certificate and Associate of Applied Science degrees.

Electives can be selected from all Gail Miller School of Business courses with the following prefixes:

Note If you are planning to transfer to the University of Utah, you must take BUS 1050: Foundations of Business as part of the required accounting option or as a program elective.

Advising Notes for UVU, ACCT 1050 is recommended and will transfer in as ACCT 2110 for all business majors except Accounting. Accounting majors are required to take ACCT 2010 and ACCT 2020. Students taking ACCT 1050 will need to take an additional 3 credits of business electives. Students who plan to major in Accounting must have a grade of ‘B’ or better in Accounting 2010.

  • Business AS: Full-time  
  • If students follow one of the suggested semester schedules, time to completion is 4-5 semesters.
  • Students who need to take preparatory classes to meet the requirements of first and second semester courses should plan on extra time to complete the program. 
  • It is the student’s responsibility to examine each course description for details of prerequisite classes. The student must satisfy those prerequisites before they may take the designated class.
