Licensure Information
The Professional Truck Driver program is designed to prepare students to apply for a Commercial Driver License (CDL) through the Utah Department of Public Safety.  To obtain a CDL in Utah, students are required to meet certain requirements beyond graduation from this program of study.

Licensure requirements vary state to state.  In order to obtain a CDL in another state, students must satisfy that state’s licensure requirements.  We recommend that students who are planning to move out of Utah research licensure requirements in other states.  Here is one suggested website: License Finder sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor.

If you have difficulty finding the licensure requirements for your state, please contact your academic advisor, or SLCC’s state authorization coordinator for help.
