Program Description
In the Windows Network Administration program, students will learn through hands-on training to install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows desktop and server systems and services to support the day-to-day management of small, medium, and enterprise network environments.

A broad range of desktop support, client, server, and network administration topics are covered in this program including installing desktop and server operating systems, desktop and server versions, post-installation tasks, storage solutions, file and share access, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing fundamentals, monitoring system performance, system and data backup and recovery, user and group accounts, Active Directory Domain Service (AD DS) fundamentals, operating system virtualization with Hyper-V, print and document services, server management, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), failover clustering, network load balancing, containers, and more.

Training within this program can be used as a step to gaining valuable industry recognized certification titles including Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).

Career Opportunities
Employment of network and computer systems administrators is projected to grow 6 percent from 2016 to 2026. Demand for information technology (IT) workers is high and should continue to grow as firms invest in newer, faster technology and mobile networks. Growth also is expected as the use of IT in healthcare increases. However, an increase in cloud computing could raise the productivity of network administrators, slowing their growth across many industries.
