Program Description
The program is designed to provide students with a practical hands-on technical experience through a Certificate of Completion in Automotive Collision Repair, along with a Certificate of Completion in Diesel or Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair. Students will learn the skills to prepare them for entry level positions in the Automotive Collision repair field and the Diesel or Automotive repair field. Graduating students will achieve two Certificates of Completion in their areas of study along with an AAS Degree in Collision, Maintenance and Light Repair.

Automotive Collision Repair: CC (CTE) (32 credits)
Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair: CC (CTE) (38 credits)
Diesel Systems Technology: CC (CTE) (33 credits)
Career Opportunities
Entry level positions within a technical company, the field or shop. Additional opportunities are available include self-employment, service representative, shop repair estimator, insurance estimator-adjustor, designer, fabricator, sales-product representative, technician helper, general repair technician, repair and service specialist (engines, drivability - electronics and mechanical, drive mechanism, brakes, steering and alignment, welding - composite, steel, aluminum, and frame repair, and uni-body damager analysis and repair).
Transfer/Articulation Information
For information regarding transfer options, please contact the SLCC Program Advisor in Academic and Career Advising. Students who earn an AAS degree in Collision, Maintenance & Light Repair have the option to transfer into the Technology Management Bachelor Degree at Utah Valley University. UVU can accept up to 45 technical credits towards this degree.

Program Entry Requirements
Collision repair/diesel/automotive maintenance and light repair technician duties require fast knowledgeable problem analysis and the ability to perform the required tasks to return a vehicle back to service. Those interested in entering these fields should be in good physical condition, have good mechanical abilities, good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, good work ethics and interpersonal skills.
