Program Description
This program allows the student to earn the full general education and all other classes to achieve major status in Chemical, Civil/Environmental, Computer, Electrical, Geological, Materials Science, Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Mining Engineering. General Engineering – Traditional includes the courses necessary to achieve major status at USHE transfer institutions.

This degree with its various options is fully transferrable to the University of Utah and with slight modifications to Utah State, Utah Valley and Weber State Universities.

Be prepared for further study in Engineering or a related discipline at a four-year college or university by completing a course of study comparable to that required in the first 2 years at Utah’s 4-year universities.

Demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of physical science, particularly in inorganic chemistry and physics.

Demonstrate competence in both creating and interpreting engineering drawings, using modern computer tools and resources.

Demonstrate an understanding of the mathematical tools necessary to perform engineering calculations – particularly in Vector Calculus, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations.
