HLTH 1510 - Introduction to Health Promotion and Education Credits: 3 This course provides an introduction to the profession of health promotion and education by reviewing the history, current opportunities, practices and future directions of the field. The course will review the responsibilities and competencies of the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and their applications to local, national and international health issues. Students will explore individual, group and community intervention practices with exposure to the various professional settings of health educators.
