RESP 1120 - Cardiopulmonary Infections & Diseases Credits: 3 This course covers respiratory-specific infections & diseases, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Universal Precautions recommendations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Bloodborne Pathogens standard. Methods used to protect patients and workers from invasion by pathogenic microbes, how tissues react and restored to normal function. Also covers human diseases, injuries, conditions, and disorders as they relate to respiratory therapy practice. Review of all body systems and the specific clinical applications of respiratory care diagnosis.
Prerequisite: Completion of all prerequisite courses and admission into the Respiratory Therapy program Semester: Spring
