RELS 2020 - Introduction to Buddhist Traditions (HU)

Credits: 3
This course will provide a historical overview of the various forms of Buddhism and Buddhist ritual practice beginning with Buddhisms origin in India and its transmission throughout Asia and the West. Through careful examination of Buddhist culture, students will examine the multiple ways in which the Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana traditions have interpreted basic Buddhist teachings.
