PHAR 1020 - Pharmacology I Credits: 2 This course teaches basic knowledge of the medications most commonly dispensed in pharmacy practice. Students are provided information about the uses, mechanism of action, side effects and special cautions that technicians should be aware of when working with and dispensing these drugs to patients. Medications seen in both the inpatient and outpatient setting are covered. Students will determine their preferred learning styles and have the opportunity to use methods consistent with their styles to commit new information to memory.
Prerequisite: Admission to Pharmacy Technician cohort Semester: Fall & Spring
