Plan of Study

The following is a plan of requirements to complete this Associate of Science degree in 2 years. Each student’s experience will vary slightly, as this plan does not include transfer work, Advanced Placement (AP), or other institutions’ concurrent enrollment credits. Math and English placement will be based on the student’s appropriate placement scores. If developmental courses are required, they should be taken in the student’s first semester.

NOTE: This plan assumes the student is prepared to take the courses listed. If prerequisites are required, additional semesters may be required to complete this degree.

Meet with the Academic Program Advisor and consult DegreeWorks for specific degree requirements.

Advising Notes

  • Please see the 4-Year Transfers page on the Communication website on SLCC and look under Transfer/Articulation Agreements for all notes for each 4-year institution.
  • Students are strongly encouraged to get their COMM degree at SLCC before transferring, a degree in COMM from SLCC benefits students financially as well as provides a solid curricular foundation.
  • Students are recommended to meet with advisor to see which QL (math) requirements transfer to their receiving institution.
  • Courses that meet General Education requirements may be used to meet program requirements. If this option is chosen, students must complete additional elective courses to meet the total credit hour requirement. Students should meet with an academic advisor to discuss options.
