Plan of Study 2022-2023

The following is a plan of requirements to complete this Associate of Pre-Engineering degree in 2 years. Each student’s experience will vary slightly, as this plan does not include transfer work, Advanced Placement (AP), or other institutions’ concurrent enrollment credits. Math and English placement will be based on the student’s appropriate placement scores. If developmental courses are required, they should be taken in the student’s first semester.

NOTE: This plan assumes the student is prepared to take the courses listed. If prerequisites are required, additional semesters may be required to complete this degree.

Meet with the Academic Program Advisor and consult DegreeWorks for specific degree requirements.

Advising Notes

*Select either CHEM 1220 or PHYS 2220.  Students planning an emphasis in Structural Engineering are encouraged to complete the  second physics course (PHYS 2220). Students planning for Environmental Engineering are encouraged to complete the second Chemistry course (CHEM 1220). Students planning to transfer to Utah State University should consult with an advisor to select alternative courses consistent with USU’s program. Students planning on an emphasis different than structural civil engineering should consult with advisors from their transfer institution to determine alternate courses. **Students should take either PHYS 2215 or PHYS 2225 or CHEM 1225.

ENGR 2950 Engineering Forum (1 credit hour) is highly recommended for all engineering students. Well prepared students may substitute MATH 1080 for MATH 1050 / MATH 1060. MATH 2270 combined with MATH 2280 can substitute for MATH 2250, students should check with their transfer institution before committing to one path over the other. Where possible students should be advised to take ENGR 1010 the semester prior to MATH 1210.
