Plan of Study 2021-2022
The following is a plan of requirements to complete this Associate of Applied Science degree. Each student’s experience will vary slightly, as this plan does not include transfer work, Advanced Placement (AP), or other institutions’ concurrent enrollment credits. Math and English placement will be based on the student’s appropriate placement scores. If developmental courses are required, they should be taken in the student’s first semester.
NOTE: This plan assumes the student is prepared to take the courses listed. If prerequisites are required, additional semesters may be required to complete this degree.
Meet with the Academic Program Advisor and consult DegreeWorks for specific degree requirements.
Student should complete the following course to begin the program in the Fall. (If CPT score not adequate; required for the AAS degree)
First Year
Second Year
Third Year
Advising Notes
- Apprenticeship programs may require a math prerequisite. A grade of C or better is required in all core courses for passing and receiving clock hours. Some programs may have stricter requirements. Students should check their individual programs for more information on prerequisites and entrance requirements. Attendance is mandated by federal law and a student cannot pass a course if out of compliance.
- Classes are to be taken in the sequence in which they are given. A student must complete each class with a C or higher grade to move onto the next level class. Failure to complete the necessary course work or to register in a timely manner for each class will add one full year to the apprentice’s program.
- Each course will be offered based on student enrollment. All Major BLA Course Requirements must be taken to complete the apprenticeship curriculum.
- It is the students’ responsibility to understand the requirements for their chosen program of study and to examine each course description for details about the prerequisite classes. It is highly recommended that each student meet with the Apprenticeship Program Advisor prior to starting this program. The Program Advisor may be reached in Academic and Career Advising.
- *It is recommended to those students seeking the AAS degree to complete their General Education requirements in the summer semesters or the year following completion of all the Apprenticeship core courses.
- A Certificate in Brick Mason Technology is also available. For more information about this certificate, contact the Apprenticeship Office, Taylorsville Redwood Campus, CT 274, 801-957-4066.
